Haha, yes, but it still applies. I love the Sense UI on my WinMo, but the sluggish performance still annoys me sometimes. I'm mainly trying to think ahead (year+ out) of what might be good then, and am disappointed that I'll likely have to switch to yet another platform to get what I want. But I'm hopeful about Android, and the possibility of another hardware manufacturer acquiring Palm is interesting.

I honestly haven't played with a Pre much to get a feel for how it is hardware-wise, but I have heard that the hardware is lacking while the OS is great. So if HTC ends up buying Palm (rumored), that could be a pretty slick combination. Especially if they put their UI skills to work on it!

I'm actually thinking of reflashing to MightyROM after you pointed out the Sense version. I've had Sense hang on mine a few times requiring a reboot. You haven't had any such issues, have you?

did you write this before or after you flashed the new ROM? lol

As per phones- when Jesse was scouting out new phones (his treo is practically disintegrating before our eyes) we learned some interesting things. The store we were out happens to be one of their repair centers- the first thing the guy we talked to said was stay away from the Pre! He said the OS is fine (but he thought it was boring) but that the whole front cover is glass. He said that screen brakes SO easily & they have a ton of repairs on them. He had a hero, but said he wanted a moment (I made a nasty face at that point). He said the moment (while it has a full keyboard) is faster than Hero. I pointed out that Hero has Sense UI, but he seemed unimpressed. I thought he was crazy.

Hey- if you wait long enough, maybe they'll get android working more fully for our phones! ;) Are you using Co0kie's home tab? It's pretty slick- although I don't know if it's as 'clean' as you'd like- it's very controllable & editable
